I was absolutely delighted when I received an email from Miss Selfridge inviting me to take part in a
Miss Selfridge, Bourjois and Toni & Guy Bloggers Challenge to celebrate the launch of Miss Selfridge Get The Look Tutorials! I for one love going out to a party/for a night out so this challenge was right up my street! I had the choice of picking one of three looks to recreate which were Pretty Princess, Rock the Party and Dusk til Dawn. I choose the look of
Dusk Til Dawn which is a very gothic but girly and adding a simple red lipstick can help you create a real classic look.
Bourjois Make Up ProductsIncluded...
- Bronze Powder
- Rouge Edition Lipstick in Pretty Prune
- Volume clubbing ultra black mascara
- Smoky Ultra Black eyeliner
- Smoky Eyes Eye palette
- Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation
I used the trio eyeshadow to create a dark smokey eye which turned out to be super bold but I am in love with the winged liner look. I used the rest of these products to help me recreate a Dusk Til Dawn make up look as seen in the video tutorial
here!
And Label M Hair Products
which included...
- Blow Out Spray
- Hair Spray
- Dry Shampoo
- Resurrection Style Dust
I used these products to help me create my Dusk till Dawn hairstyle! I am so impresed with these label M products and for someone who uses a can of large hair spray a month, a couple of cans of dry shampoo I'd happily purchase some Label M product from now on because not only does it work better than the cheaper brands but it smells nicer too! I really love the resurrection dust aswell as it livens up your hair so much and gives it more volume perfect for creating a top knot!
I'm someone who
NEVER wears my hair up (as many of you blog readers know by now!) but for this challenge I thought I'd give it a go and create a top knot!
Black Peplum Top - £27
Caviar Beaded Knicker Shorts - £15
Clutch Bag - (now out of stock)
All from Miss Selfridge(*)For my outfit I picked a style favourite of mine, a peplum top! I was yet to add a black peplum top into my wardrobe and this ones absolutely gorgeous! I love the textured effect as it gives it more shape then just a simple peplum top. When I go out to parties and clubbing now I don't just think 'lets buy a dress' which I can wear once or twice. I pick up items in shops I can wear over and over again in many different ways. I love peplum tops as they are great with jeans, shorts, disco pants, leggings and bodycon skirts or you could even wear them with patterned trousers!
I chose these beaded cavier knicker shorts as the embellishment on them is
amaaazing! I loved the gold embellishment on them and how they look so different to a simple pair of knicker shorts and they're now only
£15 in the sale! (yay!) I like how these shorts are perfect for creating a party look and make you stand out from the crowd!
I teamed the peplum top and the shorts with this embellished clutch for that extra bit of added glamour!
I personally love this look as a whole I really didn't think I'd like it as much as I do. I never am daring enough to go for a red lip but it definitely makes you feel that little bit more glamorous and ready to party! This look is very effortless with the hair but a little bit more effect with the make up as a smoky eye is hard to create (my first time of doing one!). I loved taking part in this challenge and it's definitely made me want to be more experimental with my make up choices!
If you want to check out the Pretty Princess, Rock the Party & Dusk til dawn tutorials online which consist of styling/hair & make up videos for inspiration for your next party and how you can change your look you can check them out

I've learnt from this challenge that it's okay to be a little bit more daring I hope to rock the 'top knot' and red lippy a little bit more often!
